Tree Planting at the Village Hall
In the 1950's, the youngest local cub Scout, Andy Beard, planted a tree outside the village hall with all of the Scouts, Brownies and Guides looking on, one of whom was Enid Chubb.
Over the past couple of years, the tree has not done well and it was decided that it needed to be replaced.
Today, despite the weather, members if the Beard family and the Chubb family have replanted a new tree outside the village hall alongside sone of the Village Hall Trustees and one of our new Guides.
This will create new memories for our village and also allow us to remember special people that have been part of our village for so long.
Thank you to all that attended and to James Harris for sourcing the tree and making the area ready for today.
We hope in better weather at our 100 year anniversary of the village hall next year, we will be able to recreate the original photo with all of our current Scouts, Brownies and Guides.
