Our Village Hall, originally an old Cotswold thatched barn, is a superb setting for family or business functions. Set in a conservation area and being Grade II listed with thatched roof and oak beams, it is a building full of character. The main hall has a wooden floor, full multi-media audio visual system, drop down screen and staging available, if required. A separate meeting / function room is also useful for serving food or drink and is next to a small kitchen with fridge and cooker for basic food presentation.

There are separate ladies, gentleman's and disabled toilet facilities and there is full wheel chair access to all parts of the building.

The Hall is successfully used for village shows, amateur dramatics, business presentations, weddings, adult and children's parties and can be transformed to suit any occasion. The Hall has achieved a Level 2 rating of the National Quality Standards Scheme for Village Halls.

Tree Planting at the Village Hall

Tree Planting at the Village Hall

In the 1950's, the youngest local cub Scout, Andy Beard, planted a tree outside the village hall with all of the Scouts, Brownies and Guides looking on, one of whom was Enid Chubb.

Over the past couple of years, the tree has not done well and it was decided that it needed to be replaced.

Today, despite the weather, members if the Beard family and the Chubb family have replanted a new tree outside the village hall alongside sone of the Village Hall Trustees and one of our new Guides.

This will create new memories for our village and also allow us to remember special people that have been part of our village for so long.

Thank you to all that attended and to James Harris for sourcing the tree and making the area ready for today.

We hope in better weather at our 100 year anniversary of the village hall next year, we will be able to recreate the original photo with all of our current Scouts, Brownies and Guides.
