The two community buildings are very different in their construction and their intended uses.

The Village Hall seats up to 80 people at tables or over 100 in seated rows. It has a kitchen with a cooker, glassware, cutlery and crockery. There is also a demountable stage and an AV system capable of playing films from DVD and VHS players and also Freeview TV. The ceiling mounted digital projector can also be used for presentations from a laptop.

The Village Hall is licensed for public entertainment, has a permanent alcohol licence and is licenced for the playing of recorded music. It is also suitable for fitness classes and currently hosts Pilates, Tai Chi and dance lessons.

Fentons is basically a small sports hall capable of staging one full sized badminton court with a high restriction free ceiling. The hall has a sprung floor with under floor heating. It is equipped for the playing of badminton, short tennis and table tennis. It is possible that it could become a venue for short mat bowls. Fentons is ideal for fitness sessions and dance classes, Pilates and Keep Fit. Sports groups might also wish to hire it for fitness sessions. Small informal groups may wish to play badminton, table tennis etc. on a regular or occasional basis. Fentons contains a commercially run café which has wonderful views over a pond which makes it a perfect venue for a hot or cold drink and a snack. There is an accessible outdoor space including a children’s playground. Car parking is available for 14 cars. It will not be licensed for the sale and supply of alcohol. Fentons will not be licensed for public entertainment but will be licensed for the playing of recorded music. Free WiFi is available.

One common feature of both halls is that they both provide a small meeting room in addition to the main space.

The Village Hall is a registered charity is owned by the village and managed by a Management Committee elected annually. Fentons is owned by the Parish Council and is managed by a Parish Council committee.
